The particular requirements for this scheme was to design and construct a garden surrounded by low stone walls and incorporating a small formal pool. I decided to create a sunken garden in which the walls supported the surrounding soil and in effect gave rise to raised beds.
Added benefits of stepping down into the garden was one of increased shelter and secondly effectively increasing the height of the surrounding trellis in order to provide additional privacy from neighbours.
To compliment the octagonal pool, an octagonal herb garden was created between the kitchen and garage to the same dimensions and on the same axis.
